TVR S Series
The S Series was an important model in TVR's history. Produced in the late eighties, the S sold in significant numbers at a time when TVR were selling only dozens of their distinctive wedge shaped cars.
The pretty S came with the torquey V6 from Ford and an affordable price tag. The pretty two seater sold by the hundred with several thousand being produced in its 7 year lifespan.
No two S's are the same with the various generations of cars benefiting from revised interiors and detailing throughout the history of the car. They are loosely categorised into S, S2, S3, S4 and V8S. The Ford 2.8 litre engine was swapped for the 2.9 along the way before a V8 was shoehorned in.

The V8S fits very much in with TVR's principles of old having a huge Rover V8 in the diminutive little S. Blasting out 240bhp it led directly to the introduction of the Chimaera and Griffith.
An S in good condition can be quite a bargain. Performance is brisk, it's full of character and for a sports car they can be relatively cheap to maintain. Condition is key when buying though.
